Living room

The living room is the most important room for a cover — that's where you spend most time and where guests come into play.

Pick:

• Larger formats (Munich, Vienna, Hamburg)
• Finish matched to floor
• Hung on the wall — lifts off upwards in seconds for meter reading or cleaning
• Want space for decor? A separate floating shelf about 30–40 cm above the cover — never put anything on the cover itself

Tip: In the living room covers are allowed to "do more" — act as a design element. Statement sizes like Berlin (160 cm) or Frankfurt (180 cm) work here.

Bedroom

The bedroom is about calm and reduction. The cover shouldn't dominate.

Pick:

• Medium formats (Innsbruck, Munich)
• Natural or Oiled — calm, light tones
• Simply hung on the wall, open at the top — in keeping with reduction
• Slightly wider slat spacing for maximum airflow (heat output fully retained)

Tip: Keep the wall above the cover clear and choose clarity. The bedroom should radiate calm, not add another object collection.

Bathroom

The bathroom is the toughest environment: moisture, heat, often tight spaces.

Pick:

• Small formats (Salzburg, Innsbruck) or custom sizes
• White-pigmented or Oiled (both robust against moisture)
• Wall-mounted on the hanging rail — only a few drill holes, and for cleaning you simply lift the cover off upwards
• Additional wax protection available — ask us

Important note: Re-oil bathroom covers regularly (every 12 months) so the wood fibres stay protected.

Hallway / Entrance

A lot comes together in the hallway: the cover should hide the radiator and sit calmly alongside the coat rack and shoe cabinet.

Pick:

• Medium formats (Innsbruck, Munich)
• Oiled or Smoked (robust aesthetic, survives daily dirt)
• For keys and hats: a separate floating shelf about 30–40 cm above — don't put anything on the cover
• Hangs on the hanging rail and lifts off upwards to read the heat cost allocator

Home office

In the home office you spend days at a stretch in one room. Warmth, aesthetic, and order decide comfort.

Pick:

• Medium formats (Munich, Vienna)
• Smoked for focus atmosphere, or Oiled for brightness
• Wall-mounted on the hanging rail — for books and notes, better a separate floating shelf above
• Open at the top: the slat arms form a grid that lets warmth rise freely

Kids' room

Kids' rooms have specific requirements: non-toxic materials, robust, securely fixed to the wall.

Pick:

• Small to medium formats
• Natural or White-pigmented (all our finishes are VOC-free and child-safe)
• Hung on the wall — picture books and toys belong on a separate shelf next to it, not on the cover
• Care tip: every 2 years re-oil is plenty
